In the women's competition, the two in positions one and two finished the round of the last four. Antonia Lottner (TC Bad Vilbel, position 2) had little trouble in her match against Julia Wachaczyk (Tennispark Versmold). After 1:15 hours the 6: 1, 6: 3 victory of the 23-year-olds was certain. The top seeded Katharina Hobgarski (TC Bredeney Essen) was in a hurry in her game against the unoccupied Julia Middendorf (tennis club Visbek). 6: 2 and 6: 3, Hobgarski dominated the game and made it to the semi-finals. "I'm happy to be back in the semi-finals at the German Championships," said Hobgarski. “It was crucial today that I forced my opponent on my game from the start and that she couldn't get into her game. That was particularly important at the beginning of the second sentence, when she almost broke me. "

In the semifinals, the 22-year-old now faces Lara Schmidt (TC BW Dresden-Blasewitz), who prevailed against Alexandra Vecic (TC Tübingen) 6: 2, 6: 3. In the other semi-final, Lottner meets Romy Koelzer (RTHC Bayer Leverkusen), who benefited from the task of her opponent Natalia Siedliska (TuS Heidelberg) at 2-1 in the first set.

The favorites have also prevailed in the men's competition and will be in the semi-finals tomorrow, Saturday. Daniel Masur (Tennispark Versmold), number two in Biberach, gave 18-year-old local hero Benedict Kurz (TA VfL Sindelfingen 1862) no chance at 6: 3, 6: 2. Nevertheless, the German champion from 2017 was not satisfied with his performance. “That was still far from good today. But at least better than yesterday. Now I have one more day to find my way into the tournament, ”said Masur. The defeated Kurz drew a positive conclusion despite the defeat: "Of course I'm disappointed, but overall it was a great week for me," said the German Under-18 runner-up.

Julian Lenz has three sentences

Julian Lenz (TC Bad Homburg) and Jordi Walder (TC Iserlohn) met in the last match of the day. Against Walder, 26-year-old Lenz, number one on the seed list, had to go through three sets as in the round before. After a 6: 4 in the first round for Lenz, Walder struggled better into the game and made the decisive break for the 7: 5 set equalization. In the third set Lenz dominated again and ultimately turned his third match ball to 6: 2.

The other semi-finalists are Leonard von Hindte (The Club on the Alster) and Johann Willems (TC Wolfsberg Pforzheim). Hindte's unsettled Hamburger defeated the number seven of the tableau, Hannes Wagner (TC Schießgraben Augsburg), 6: 4, 3: 6 and 6: 4. Willems, in sixth place, prevailed after a tough fight against qualifier Christian Hansen (Marienburger SC) (6: 3, 3: 6 and 6: 3). Hindte will face Julian Lenz in the semi-final on Saturday, Willems has to compete against Masur.

In the mixed competition, the final will be held on Saturday. Anna Klasen and Hannes Wagner, who defeated the defending champions Jule Niemeier / Daniel Masur in the semi-final in the match tie breaker, meet the duo JuliaWachaczyk / Johann Willems in the fight for the title.
