As a professional tennis player, you can hardly choose a much nicer place than Hawaii for the season preparation. Five men and just as many women will fine-tune the upcoming tennis year on the Pacific Ocean chain of islands.
The organizers can look forward to prominent names in the draws. In the women's category, Grand Slam winners Angelique Kerber and Maria Sharapova will start, with Danielle Collins, Yanina Wickmayer and Misaki Doi completing the field.
Collins and Wickmayer will play out a spot in the semi-finals on December 26, the winner will face Kerber the day after. Sharapova and Doi meet in the second semi-final.
Finals on December 28th
Well-known players start with Taylor Fritz, Kei Nsihikori and Sam Querrey. Christian Harrison and Jordan Thompson will also serve in Hawaii. These two will duel in the only quarter-final on December 26, the winner will play against Fritz the next day. The other semi-final is contested by Nishikori and Querrey.
For both women and men, the final will go up on December 28th. The format is also the same: If the match goes into a third set, a champions tie break (tie break up to ten) will bring the decision.
