Many people may not immediately remember what activities they were doing on April 25, 2005. If you were to ask Rafael Nadal this question, the answer could be: I was partying. Because it was on this day that the then still very young Spaniard appeared in the top ten of the ATP world rankings for the first time. His triumph in Monte Carlo lifted the Mallorcan to seventh place in the ranking.

Since then, despite numerous injuries, Nadal has not had to leave this elite club. On September 29, 2021, exactly 16 years, 5 months and 4 days later, the Iberian can now look forward to a crazy record. For 6000 days, the former world number one has been one of the ten best tennis players in the world without interruption - a record since the beginning of the data collection, of course!

In the meantime, Nadal has won 20 Grand Slam trophies and two Olympic gold medals, and the Spaniard won a total of 88 individual titles. The 35-year-old is currently in sixth place in the world, but due to the premature end of the season, Nadal is threatened with an early end to the top ten series.

An end to his career is currently not an issue for the Spaniard: Son's Toni recently announced that the 20-time major champion would return to the tour full of energy.
