Grabher beat fifth-seeded Anastasia Potapova 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 on Wednesday, putting him in the last eight of the Spanish WTA event.

Grabher is continuing her good performances from the past few weeks: In April she reached the quarterfinals at the WTA tournament in Istanbul and then the semifinals at the ITF W60 tournament in Koper. She is currently ranked 153 in the world rankings, just behind her career high of 148. Thanks to the results from Valencia, she will top this in the coming week, in the live ranking she is currently ranked 142.

In the quarter-finals, Grabher now meets the winner of the game between the top seeded Nuria Parrizaz Diaz and Katarina Zavatska.
