Call to Panama at 12 p.m. local time, a relaxed Oliver Marach in the garden, but only at first glance. There is also a curfew in Panama due to the spread of the coronavirus, and the measures will become even stricter as of Wednesday, Marach says. Because then it goes after the ID cards, after the last digit of the number. "I have number 5, which means I can go outside for an hour from 5 am", says Marach - but only for shopping. “And without my wife, she has number 8. From Wednesday onwards, the children are not allowed out. It will be violent, ”he explains.

The pandemic in Panama is not yet as advanced, but there is rather fear of the health system. "We are a small country, there are only a few ventilation machines," says Marach, who lives in a kind of "gated community" with a tennis court, swimming band, gym - but everything is closed here as well. Like all tennis players, he trains a lot with Thera bands. "For me it's mainly prophylaxis for injuries, I'm already turning 40."
