The organizers of the MercedesCup from June 7th to 13th, 2021 in Stuttgart were able to record a remarkable success at sponsor level! The leading sports betting provider Betway and the ATP lawn tournament at the TC Weissenhof have agreed to work together for three years. “We are very pleased that we were able to win a globally successful company such as Betway as a sponsoring partner for the MercedesCup in a very challenging time for the sporting events industry. As a global player, Betway strategically focuses on tennis. This also shows that tennis works very well as a strong communication platform. The MercedesCup plays an important role in the international orientation of Betway - not least thanks to the extensive live TV coverage by Servus TV, the extension in digital and social media and the large fan base that the grass highlight at TC Weissenhof is about “, emphasizes MercedesCup tournament director Edwin Weindorfer

“We are overjoyed to be the official betting partner of the MercedesCup. We are continuing our global support for tennis and we are delighted to be part of such a historic event, ”said Anthony Werkman , CEO of Betway. This sponsorship once again proves Betway's great commitment to tennis. In addition to the MercedesCup, there are other partnerships with the Miami Open, the Madrid Open and the Estoril Open. By entering Stuttgart, Betway is underlining its commitment to supporting outstanding sporting events around the world.

Shapovalov, Wawrinka, Kyrgios at the start

The MercedesCup 2021 sets new accents with innovative elements and thus also meets the most modern demands in terms of infrastructure and media consumption. This includes a newly developed event app and the use of a 270-degree LED strip that frames the Center Court on three sides and thus contributes to the more flexible and attention-grabbing presentation of partners and sponsors. Since there will be no line judges on the courts, line calling will be carried out for the first time at a lawn tournament on the ATP or WTA tour using the Hawk-Eye-LIVE technology with which all match courts at the Weissenhof are equipped.

Denis Shapovalov announced at the beginning of the week that he was not going to the French Open in Paris because of shoulder problems. His appearance in Stuttgart, however, was not in jeopardy, said the management of the Canadian Edwin Weindorfer immediately. It is therefore certain that the three top stars Shapovalov, Nick Kyrgios (AUS) and Stan Wawrinka (SUI), all of whom will be absent from the French Open, will start at the MercedesCup in the second week of the Grand Slam tournament in Paris despite the clash of dates.

The digital activation of the traditional ATP Tour 250 tournament will take place at tennisnet.com - with an extensive presentation of the channel, numerous live tickers and detailed reporting on the web, mobile and in tennisnet's social media.
