Naomi Osaka has finished her self-chosen time off and has returned to the tennis court. "A little rusty, but it feels good to be back," tweeted the four-time Grand Slam winner on Friday to pictures of herself in training clothes on a court. The Japanese had decided after her third round at the US Open withdrawn for almost two months.
Earlier in May, Osaka caused a sensation when it withdrew because of the dispute over a press boycott at the French Open. She then reported problems with depression and skipped the Wimbledon tournament. At the Olympic Games in Tokyo, the 24-year-old lit the fire and then surprisingly dropped out in the round of 16.
"I really want to thank everyone for all the nice messages, I really appreciate it," wrote Osaka.
