The news came as a surprise on Tuesday evening , and Novak Djokovic confirmed it on Wednesday: he will continue without his successful coach Marian Vajda in the future. /

The separation was amicable, Djokovic's side announced, it was apparently decided after the ATP Finals 2021.

"Marian has been by my side through the most important and memorable moments of my career," Djokovic wrote. "Together we have achieved incredible things and I am very grateful for his friendship and passion over the past 15 years. He may leave the professional team but he will always be part of the family and I cannot thank him enough for all that he did."

Vajda explained: "During my time with Novak, I have been fortunate enough to watch him grow into the player he is today. I look back on our time together with immense pride and am so grateful for the success, we had. I remain his biggest supporter on and off the pitch and look forward to new challenges."

Marian Vajda was also there during Boris Becker's time

Djokovic actually had the greatest success with Vajda, he was at Djoker's side in all 20 Grand Slam tournament victories. Also during the period from 2013 to 2016, when Boris Becker was there as a "super coach". Vajda and Becker knew each other from their time as active players: As a professional, Vajda was ranked 34th in the world in the 1980s and 1990s.

Goran Ivanisevic has been part of "Team Djokovic" since 2019, and he will stay, as will the two physiotherapists Ulises Badio and Miljan Amanovic, as well as fitness trainer Marco Panichi.
