Petra Kvitova - To be on the safe side, her own Hall of Fame

Petra Kvitova entered the Hall of Fame as an active player. Not the one in Newport, Rhode Island, though. But in a very personal one in the Czech Republic.

Petra Kvitova in her own Hall of Fame

It is not at all improbable that Petra Kvitova will one day hopefully be assigned her own personal niche in the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport. To date, the Czech left-hander has collected 29 titles on her credit account, two of them at Wimbledon. It wasn't quite enough for first place in the WTA world rankings, but hopefully the judges and fans who decide after the end of his career whether Kvitova is worthy won't be that picky.

However: you never know. And that's why there is now a separate Hall of Fame dedicated exclusively to Petra Kvitova, in her hometown of Fulnek. According to reports, the idea for this came from Kvitova's brother Libor, Papa Jiri was involved in the establishment of the Hall of Fame.

The Kvitovas' approach is to be commended in every respect. And should give the southern Styrian community of Leibnitz the last push to pay tribute to the city's greatest son. Because for some reason Thomas Muster, who, in addition to his gigantic successes, also has an even more gigantic comeback story to tell, is still not represented in Newport. What the Austrian legend might like, but not his fans. They would certainly storm the "Thomas Muster Hall of Fame" just before the Slovenian border. Take that, Newport!
