Lukas Baumgartner has a flair for the dramatic: In the semifinals of the Peugeot tie-break shoot-out in Kitzbühel, the Upper Austrian delivered the longest tie-break in tournament history with Marc Sämann from Berlin. And the final against Arian Hodzic from Vorarlberg left nothing to be desired: Baumgartner prevailed with 13:11 and was able to receive the Peugeot 2008 SUV GT Line.

In the doubles competition, which was held for the first time, Frederic Ancey and Harald Eigner secured a Peugeot Scooter Django each with a 10: 7 against Rene Kerscher and Christian Lederer.

More than 1,000 starters took part in Austria's largest hobby tournament, tournament boss Claus Lippert was able to take stock with satisfaction. What was particularly positive for Lippert was the fact that almost every player had a real chance of winning the main prize due to the handicap system: Depending on the ITN, the players were given a head start in the tiebreaks.

In contrast to previous years, the qualifying tournaments for the grand finale in Kitzbühel started earlier - and were divided regionally into four zones. As part of the Generali Open, the 16 best remaining players then played for the big prize. Lukas Baumgartner picked it up on Sunday afternoon in great weather on the center court of the Kitzbühel tennis club.
