Porsche Tennis Grand Prix: Sabalenka and Swiatek serve in Stuttgart

That could be a revenge at the highest level: Australian Open winner Aryna Sabalenka will compete at the tennis tournament in Stuttgart - just like the Pole Iga Swiatek. Last year both players met in the Stuttgart final and Swiatek taught Sabalenka a lesson by clearly winning the final with a score of 6.2, 6-2.

The French winner of last year's WTA finals, Caroline Garcia, will also be present at the 46th edition, as the organizer announced. The tournament has existed since 1978, but at that time it was still on a hard court in the Filderstadt hall. The move to Stuttgart followed in 2006.

"I've always felt at home there. Maybe it'll work on the third try," said Sabalenka, who has reached the final twice at the event but hasn't won the title yet. Last year with the clear defeat against Swiatek.

"We are delighted to be able to present these world stars to our audience," says tournament director Markus Günthardt, looking forward to the prominent names for his event. "We take it as a great compliment that they made the decision at this early stage." The tournament will take place from April 15th to 23rd.
