Simona Halep has apparently decided to make a change in her team

At the end of last season, Simona Halep dropped a bomb, so to speak: The Romanian declared that she would no longer work with long-term coach Darren Cahill - and immediately went in search of a replacement. This was quickly found, and at the end of September Halep brought Adrian Marcu into the team, who worked together with Daniel Dobre as a coaching duo for Halep.

Now, ahead of the WTA events in the US, the Romanian will make yet another change in her coaching staff. Simona Halep has reportedly secured the services of Morgan Bourbon, who will accompany the former world number one to the United States. The Frenchman is part of Patrick Mouratoglou's tennis academy.

Halep starts in Indian Wells

In the USA, Simona Halep will immediately be going to two important stations: Indian Wells and Miami. The Romanian won the first in 2015, last year it was a surprisingly early defeat in round three. In Miami, too, 30-year-olds did not go beyond the round of 32 last year, and the world number 27 was able to beat Anastasia Sevastova. did not compete at that time.

After the triumph at the start of the season in Melbourne, Halep was not really able to maintain her good form. Halep did reach the round of 16 at the Australian Open and the semi-finals in Dubai, but suffered a surprising first-round defeat at the WTA 1000 event in Doha at the end of February.
