"The first title since my knee operation, which was almost exactly three years ago," wrote Lisicki on "We're here. We did it. We won in Calgary!"
Lisicki reached the final at Wimbledon in 2013, but lost to Frenchwoman Marion Bartoli. In 2020, Lisicki, who was plagued by repeated injuries, suffered a torn cruciate ligament and has been fighting to keep up since then.
