For Barbara Rittner, the visit to the Porsche location in Leipzig was an important element in promoting young talent and working with the sports car manufacturer. "We think it's important to offer our players extraordinary experiences together as a team in addition to the training sessions on the court," said the head coach of the German Tennis Association (DTB). She accompanied the players Eva Lys, Nastasja Schunk, Julia Middendorf, Mara Guth, Noma Noha Akugue, Ella Seidel and Joelle Steur on their trip to the Saxon metropolis.

The first highlight of the attractive program of visits was an exciting trip to the limits of physics: on the in-house circuit of the Porsche Experience Center, the tennis talents experienced as passengers in a Porsche 911 GT3 a lasting impression of the acceleration, centrifugal forces and deceleration of the powerful Porsche sports cars . Not only Eva Lys, who recently celebrated her debut in Porsche Team Germany with a win in the Billie Jean King Cup against Croatia, was visibly impressed afterwards. "I'm an adrenaline fanatic, so it was really cool," she said after this very special driving experience. Noma Noha Akugue, who was the first to dare to sit in the passenger seat next to the experienced Porsche instructor, didn't even want to get out: “It's so much fun. You don't experience something like this every day."

Rittner is fascinated by the Porsche brand

The German Tennis Association team received an interesting insight into the 20-year history of the Leipzig plant and the vehicles produced at this Porsche location during a tour of the plant. For Eva Lys it was “fascinating that we can look behind the scenes at our sponsor and see the unbelievable logistics involved in vehicle production. That was an experience that we as players are happy to take with us.” In addition to the many cars, the Leipzig hosts also made a big impression on the reigning German champion: “I'm totally thrilled. The people we met here not only radiate professionalism, but also a lot of joy in their work.”

The junior players of the Porsche teams got to know the organizational and training structure of a successful football club on a trip to RB Leipzig. After a guided tour through the academy and the youth academy of the Porsche partner in youth development, they tested the innovative soccer simulator SoccerBot360 together with the soccer players of the first women's team. In addition, there was a lively exchange among the athletes and the coaching staff about the differences between individual and team sports as well as about everyday training and training priorities.

For Barbara Rittner, the visit to Leipzig fulfilled all expectations. "I saw the big eyes of the players. The days at Porsche were a great experience for them,” the head national coach drew a positive conclusion. "Although I've been to Porsche several times, I'm always deeply impressed by the fascination of the brand - and proud of our partnership."
