Tennis tournaments in Moscow canceled

Due to the massive increase in the number of corona infections in Moscow, the ATP and the WTA have canceled both tennis tournaments in the Russian capital.

The men's competition was to take place from October 19-25, the women's event was scheduled from October 26th to November 1st. As planned, however, the ATP 500 tournament in St. Petersburg, Russia, will take place from October 12th to 18th.

The last time the WTA tournament in Linz was postponed, the tournament is now to take place sometime between the beginning of November and the second week of December.

In Paris , too, there was a reaction to the rising corona cases, instead of the originally planned 20,000 spectators per day, only 5,000 should be allowed in, and that exclusively on the main square, Court Philippe-Chatrier.
