Pella reached the quarter-finals at Wimbledon last year and was already in 20th position in the ATP world rankings. As the current number 35 in the world, the Argentine would have had a place in the main field of Cincinnati. The Colombian Dellien, on the other hand, was a candidate for qualification as 95th on the ATP charts. Nothing will come of it now. Both players are in quarantine.

The USTA announced on Tuesday that a person in the bladder had tested positive for COVID-19. In separate Instagram videos, Pella and Dellien have now confirmed that this is their fitness coach Juan Manuel Galvan. The trio had trained together in Miami last week.

If you follow the strict rules that have been formulated by the USTA, then Pella and Dellien will not be able to compete in the US Open that begins on August 31st. Mike Dowse, the head of the USTA, said that such cases were expected. The first priority is to take care of the person concerned. And stop the virus from spreading.
