Top odds on Australian TV for Dominic Thiem against Nick Kyrgios

The fact that fans spend a lot of time in front of the TV screen because of the pandemic also had a positive effect on the television companies at the Tennis Australian Open. With regard to national reporting, tournament broadcaster "Nine" has announced that Dominic Thiem's third round match against Australian Nick Kyrgios will be the most watched non-news program in 2021 until the final weekend.

At its peak, 1.8 million viewers watched the match, the average was 1.27 million.

Thiem prevailed after a 2-0 set deficit with 4: 6, 4: 6, 6: 3, 6: 4, 6: 4. In the last sixteen he failed surprisingly clearly against Grigor Dimitrov in three sets.

The US Open winner will be back in action in March in Doha and Dubai. At both tournaments he is top seed for the time being.

Kyrgios canceled a start at the ATP 250 tournament in Montpellier. He called for the event in Doha, but is currently outside the main field and has to hope for cancellations - or in the qualification.
