Unusual opponents: Krawietz wins against Mies
In doubles, Kevin Krawietz (30) and Andreas Mies (32) form a successful team and are also at the start of this year's US Open together. On Thursday, however, the two faced each other in New York as opponents - with the better end for Krawietz.

Coburg won the first round duel in the mixed competition alongside American Nicole Melichar-Martinez against Cologne's Mies with New Zealand's Erin Routliffe 7: 6 (7: 2), 7: 6 (7: 4).
On Friday, Krawietz/Mies, who won the French Open in 2019 and 2020, will face Robin Haase/Philipp Oswald (Netherlands/Austria) in their second round match in doubles.
