The ATP Masters 1000 tournaments in Montreal and Cincinnati were unsuccessful for Matteo Berrettini. At the US Open, the Italian is slowly finding his groove. After Berrettini had to go five sets against Daniel Altmaier and four against Hugo Grenier in round one, he beat Andy Murray 6: 4, 6: 4, 6: 7 (1) and 6 in Friday's first match at Arthur Ashe Stadium :3.

Berrettini is in the round of 16, where he meets Alejandro Davidovich-Fokina. The Spaniard defeated Tsitsipas conqueror Daniel Elahi Galan in four sets.
