US Open 2022: Medvedev, Murray further, Bautista Agut already out
Defending champion Daniil Medvedev , like Andy Murray , has advanced to the second round of the US Open 2022. On the other hand, Roberto Bautista Agut was eliminated somewhat surprisingly.

Daniil Medvedev was allowed to open the action at Arthur Ashe Stadium, almost a year after he celebrated his biggest career success there. Medvedev made life difficult for himself against Stefan Kozlov despite the ultimately safe 6: 2, 6: 4 and 6: 0, was sometimes behind with a break, then gave up a break lead again. After losing the second set, however, local hero Kozlov was no longer able to counter it. In round two, Medvedev plays either against Arthur Rinderknech from France.
Andy Murray made a strong showing in the first match at Louis Armstrong Stadium. Murray won against Francisco Cerundolo from Argentina 7:5, 6:3 and 6:3 and can count on good chances in round two against John Millman or Emilio Nava.
On the other hand, Roberto Bautista Agut was surprisingly eliminated. And quite clearly with 4: 6, 4: 6 and 4: 6 against the American John Jeffrey Wolf.
