Oswald and Haase had won in the second round against Kevin Krawietz and Andreas Mies in a tight match, but against Mektic and Pavic, who had last been in the Wimbledon final, it was the end of the line with 3: 6 and 4: 6. The match on court lasted 84 minutes, but the Vorarlberger and his Dutch partner had almost no chance of making it into the quarter-finals.

The number one seed duo, defending champions Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury, are also in the last eight. Ram/Salisbury defeated the Italians Simone Bolelli and Fabio Fognini 6:1 and 7:5.
