US Open: David Goffin surprisingly beats Filip Krajinovic, Alejandro Davidovich-Fokina, Corentin Moutet

David Goffin got off to a brilliant start in his third round duel with the Serb Filip Krajinovic. The Belgian was particularly strong as a setback, Krajinovic couldn't play a single one of his service games in round one. Only a break by the Serb, who had inflicted a bad defeat on Dominic Thiem in the previous week , prevented the maximum penalty in sentence one.

Krajinovic then had his chances in the second round, but had to admit defeat 5-7 in a contested tie-break. In the third set Filip Krajinovic didn’t get a noticeable uproar, David Goffin only needed a break to make it into the round of 16 perfectly. The number seven of the tournament now meets the winner of the game between Denis Shapovalov and Taylor Fritz.

Meanwhile, Alejandro Davidovich-Fokina is an extremely surprising name in the round of 16 of the US Open. The Spaniard faced Cameron Norrie in his third round match.
