Krawietz and Mies had to admit defeat to Denis Shapovalov and double legend Rohan Bopanna 6: 4, 4: 6 and 3: 6. In round one the two Germans also had to go over three sets, but were able to hold their own against Max Purcell and Luke Saville. The next stop for Krawietz / Mies could now be the Generali Open in Kitzbühel, which will be held next week.

Juan Sebastian Cabal and Robert Farah also mentioned there. But probably without the special intention of really traveling to Tyrol. After all, the two Colombians competed as defending champions in New York City and won the Wimbledon title in 2019 before the US Open. Against Jean-Julien Rojer and Horia Tecau, however, came 6: 4, 3: 6 and 4: 6 already in round two.
