US Open qualification: Dennis Novak and Filip Misolic survive the first round
Austria's men have successfully completed the first qualifying round at the US Open.

Dennis Novak (ATP No. 137), seeded 31st, won 7: 6 (6), 6: 1 against Alexandar Kovacevic and is now dealing with Dalibor Svrcina.
And Kitzbühel finalist Filip Misolic (ATP No. 142) is in round 2 of the Flushing Meadows preliminary tournament: he beat Martin Damm Jr. 6: 7 (3), 7: 6 (6) and 6: 3. Misolic turned a 2:5 deficit in the second round! He now meets Corentin Moutet, who is eleventh seeded.
Things didn't go so well for the ÖTV women: Julia Grabher lost to Viktoria Kuzmova 3: 6, 3: 6 early on, Sinja Kraus with the same result shortly afterwards Maria Carle.
At the start today: Sebastian Ofner (against Yannick Hanfmann), Gerald Melzer (against Jozef Kovaliv) and Barbara Haas (against Lesley Pattinama Kerkhove).
