Mixed feelings for the DTB starters on the third day of the US Open qualifier. It went well for Maximilian Marterer. The German had reached the final qualifying round at the start of the matchday with a nerve-racking 6:3, 3:6 and 7:6 (5) win over Carlos Taberner and now meets Riccardo Bonadio.

Things didn't go so well for Mats Moraing and Nastasja Schunk. The former had to give up before the start of the second period after just losing the opening set against Raul Brancaccio from Italy. Schunk, on the other hand, had absolutely nothing to counter Slovakia's Viktoria Kuzmova and failed 3:6 and 2:6.

Korpatsch strong

On the other hand, things went better for Tamara Korpatsch: The German defeated the Ukrainian Kateryna Kozlova in three sets after more than two and a half hours and is thus like a torturer in the third qualifying round. The German now meets the Mexican Fernanda Contreras Gomez.

Oscar Otte, Daniel Altmaier and Peter Gojowczyk are also three Germans in the men’s main draw, while the women are four with Jule Niemeier, Andrea Petkovic, Tatjana Maria and Laura Siegemund.
