French Open winner Rafael Nadal followed his big rivals Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer into the second round of the US Open. The Spaniard, who has won the title three times in New York, had no problems on Tuesday (local time) against the Australian John Millman and won 6: 3, 6: 2, 6: 2.

Last year, Millman had caused a big surprise at the US Open and knocked out Swiss grand slam champion Federer in the round of 16, but failed one lap later due to Djokovic. This time a sensation was out of reach, the Spaniard, who had to give up injured in the semi-final against Juan Martin del Potro in 2018, was too dominant. The next opponent of the world ranking second Nadal is the Australian Thanasi Kokkinakis.

After the victory, Nadal was satisfied with almost everything - only his forehand did not always work as desired. And the Spaniard did not save on compliments for his opponent: The result was smooth, but the 2:10 hour show already shows how hard John Millman fought back.
