A few days ago, Stan Wawrinka had given his supporters hopes of an early comeback with positive news , as it became known on Monday, but the fans of the Swiss will have to be patient a little longer: The three-time Grand Slam winner will also be with do not start the US Open.

Wawrinka had to undergo operations on her left foot twice this year and was therefore already absent from the French Open and Wimbledon. The 36-year-old played his last match to date on March 9 at the ATP 250 tournament in Doha, where he lost to Lloyd Harris in three sets.
