Jan-Lennard Struff is not really getting going. Struff, who will represent Germany in the Davis Cup from September 13-18, lost in the second round of the qualifying competition for the US Open 2022 to Enzo Couacoud of France 6-4, 6-7 (3) and 2 :6. Daniel Masur was also eliminated against 19-year-old Italian Francesco Maestrelli. Masur lost 3:6 and 4:6.

After Mats Moraing had to give up earlier on Thursday, the last remaining German in the qualifying tableau is Maximilian Marterer. The left-hander, who qualified for the main draw at Wimbledon, now faces Riccardo Bonardio after his narrow win against Carlos Taberner.

There are still two chances for women: Tamar Korpatsch has a chance of a place in Hauotfeld against Fernanda Contreras Gomez. Eva Lys, on the other hand, put in a very strong performance against Simona Waltert at 6:1 and 6:1.
