While a good part of the world elite in America is already preparing for the US Open, the tennis public is still concerned with one question: Can Novak Djokovic take part in the last Grand Slam tournament of the year despite the lack of a corona vaccination or will the Serb miss it the Australian Open another major event this year?

The signs for Djokovic are currently anything but good, the health protocols in the USA do not allow him to enter the country from today's perspective. As before, people from abroad must be vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to be allowed to enter the United States of America.

Djokovic doesn't give up hope

Djokovic, who does not want to be vaccinated in the future either, recently emphasized that he was preparing for the US Open as usual. His coach Goran Ivanisevic, on the other hand, has less hope: "Novak will do everything possible, maybe with a special visa, but there are only two weeks left. Personally, I have no hope," said the Croatian recently on the sidelines of the tournament in Umag.

Djokovic is also currently not allowed to enter Canada, where the ATP Masters 1000 tournament will take place in Montreal next week. An appearance at this year's North American hard court tour seems a long way off. A petition with around 50,000 signatures, which calls for the 21-time Grand Slam winner to appear at the US Open, will probably not change that.
