The two Australians got drunk at the home Grand Slam in Melbourne in January and ended up winning the title. To the delight of the ecstatic fans who pumped up Kokkinakis and Kyrgios - and vice versa. However, hardly to that of their opponents. Kyrgios in particular missed the red line several times, which annoyed Michael Venus, Tim Pütz's doubles partner after the lost quarter-finals. "His level of maturity is like that of a 10-year-old, to put it kindly," Venus explained afterwards .

The New Zealander was not amused by Kyrgios' way of cheering on the crowd between his opponents' serves. Pütz also called Kyrgios' behavior in this regard "unsporting".

Kokkinakis and Kyrgios are both ailing

In Wimbledon, Kokkinakis and Kyrgios now want to attack again, although the two have uncertainties about the best-of-five format. "But we go from match to match, have fun, enjoy our time together, " Kokkinakis said .

Who also believes in Kyrgios going well in the individual, especially after his strong performances in the past few weeks (semi-finals in Stuttgart and Halle). "The most difficult thing is playing several matches in a row. But the most important thing for him is that he gets through it relaxed, especially in the first rounds. Then he could be ready."

In Mallorca, Kyrgios had to withdraw due to an abdominal muscle injury. In WImbledon he starts in singles against British wildcard Paul Jubb.

Kokkinakis himself was also injured, slipping in Surbiton and injuring his knee. He was "better prepared for a Grand Slam tournament," he said accordingly. Kokkinakis meets Kamil Majchrzak in round 1, Novak Djokovic could then wait in round 2.

However, the doubles matches have not yet been drawn.
