WTA Adelaide: Ashleigh Barty in the semifinals, Simona Halep and Belinda Bencic retired
Ashleigh Barty is in the semifinals at the WTA Premier tournament in Adelaide. Simona Halep and Belinda Bencic were eliminated.

After a messed up start to the season in Brisbane, Ashleigh Barty is getting better and better on track. At the event in Adelaide, the world number one is already in the semi-finals. In the round of eight, the Australian won 6: 3 and 6: 3 against Marketa Vondrousova.
In the final round, 23-year-olds now face Danielle Collins. The American gave Belinda Bencic no chance in her 6: 3 and 6: 1 success. Bencic had eliminated Julia Goerges in the quarterfinals .
The semi-final of the lower half is Dayana Yastremska against Aryna Sabalenka. Yastremska, supervised by Sascha Bajin, clearly defeated Donna Vekic 6: 4 and 6: 3, Sabalenka also left Wimbledon winner Simona Halep in the 6: 4 and 6: 2 victory just as few chances.
