WTA Adelaide: Barty after defeating Swiatek in the final
Tournament favorite Ashleigh Barty reached the final of the WTA Tour 500 event in Adelaide with a 6: 2 and 6.4 against Iga Swiatek. There she meets Elena Rybakina.

After her long break, Ashleigh Barty reaches out again after a tournament victory on the WTA tour: The world number one, who has not played a match since her departure from the US Open against Shelby Rogers, won the semifinals of the 500 in Adelaide against Iga Swiatek 6: 2 and 6: 4.
Barty already had a match point when the score was 5: 3 in the second round, Swiatek, the 2020 French Open winner, fought off with an ace. A few moments later, the local hero made it clear to reach the finals with a strong serve.
On Sunday, Barty will play against Elena Rybakina for the title. The Kazakh won against Misaki Doi 6: 4 and 6: 3 in the first semi-final.
