Bencic beat Caroline Garcia 6-2, 3-6 and 6-4 and now meets Veronika Kudermetova. She had fended off five match points in her 4: 6, 7: 6 (5) and 6: 1 victory over Danielle Collins.
The second semi-final is contested by Daria Kasatkina (6: 3, 7: 6 (3) against Petra Kvitova) and Paula Badosa (7: 6 (5), 7: 5 against Beatriz Haddad Maia).
