The player profile on the WTA website still lists Dieter Kindlmann as Catherine Bellis' coach. In fact, there was a working agreement between the experienced German trainer and the young American - which, however, never really got off the ground. Because Bellis had to fight again and again with injuries. And has now drawn a line under her career, as she announced on social media.

Bellis reached the top of the junior world rankings in 2014 and first attracted attention on the big stage in 2016 at the US Open with a win against Dominika Cibulkova. After this tournament, Bellis started her professional career. And at the same time got a scholarship to Stanford College. Bellis is currently catching up on this training at an investment company. She retired from active tennis at the age of 22.

"CiCi" already achieved her highest world ranking in 2017: In August she was number 35 in the world.
