WTA Bad Homburg: Angelique Kerber and Simona Halep complete the quarterfinals
Angelique Kerber and Simona Halep made it to the quarterfinals of the WTA 250 tournament in Bad Homburg.

Defending champion Angelique Kerber has reached the quarter-finals of the grass tournament in Bad Homburg. Kerber (Kiel) had little trouble against the Italian Lucia Bronzetti on Wednesday at 6: 2 and 6: 3 and did not lose a set in her second tournament match either. She now meets Alize Cornet.
In addition, former world number one Simona Halep made it into the round of the last eight at the WTA 250 event. The Romanian beat Tamara Zidansek 6-0 and 6-3 and will face Amanda Anisimova on Thursday.
Sabine Lisicki had bought her ticket for the quarter-finals a little earlier - the former Wimbledon finalist was overjoyed after beating Greet Minnen in three sets .
