The Wimbledon finalist from 2014 beat the Swiss Ylena In-Albon 6: 3 and 6: 2 and now meets Kamilla Rakhimova.

Bouchard continues to struggle to catch up with the world leaders after slumps and injuries. In 2021 she had to undergo an operation on her right shoulder and was out for a long time. She has only been playing on the tour again since August 2022. Most recently, she had won a main draw match in Guadalajara in October. After the Australian Open, Bouchard had paused again.

In the WTA ranking, the former number 5 (October 2014) is currently only in 327th place, but thanks to her victory she will crack the top 300 again next week.

WTA Bogota: Defending champion Tatjana Maria placed second

In Bogota, Elise Mertens is top seed ahead of defending champion Tatjana Maria. She meets Katarina Scott at the start.

From an Austrian point of view, Sinja Kraus is there after qualifying, she will meet Nadia Podoroska at the start.
