WTA Bogota: Maria Osorio Serrano crowns sensational week with a title

Maria Osorio Serrano crowned her crazy week at the WTA 250 event in Bogota by winning the title. The Colombian defeated Tamara Zidansek in the final 5: 7, 6: 3 and 6: 4.

Maria Osorio Serrano only received a wildcard a little less than a week ago for the WTA 250 event in Bogota. Now, at the end of this week, the lady from Colombia can stretch the title against the sky and can celebrate her greatest career success.

The world rankings 180. played in Bogota for the fourth time in her young career in a main field on the WTA tour. Osorio Serrano proved that the South American has great potential as early as 2019 when she was crowned US Open winner among the juniors.

Tough fight against Zidansek

In the final in Bogota, Maria Osorio Serrano faced the Slovenian Tamara Zidansek. And a real fight developed - with a better ending for Osorio Serrano. With 5: 7, 6: 3 and 6: 4 made the world rankings 180. finally winning the title perfectly.

It is only the third lady from Colombia who won the title at the home event in Bogota. Before that, only Mariana Duque-Marino and Fabiola Zuluaga had succeeded.
