Julia Grabher's strong performances seem to increase from week to week: At the WTA Clay Court Challenger tournament in Bari, the Vorarlberg native is in the semi-finals after a three-set win over the number one of the event. Grabher defeated Panna Udvardy (WTA 78) 4:6, 6:4, 6:1 after 2:03 hours of play. It was not until the end of July that the Austrian left the field as a loser in the semifinals of the ITF W60 tournament by Cordenons against the Hungarian.
In the two previous rounds, Austria's number one defeated local hero Lucrezia Stefanini (WTA 231) 6:3, 6:2 and South Korean Su Jeong Jang (WTA 135) in three rounds 7:5, 6:7 (3), 6: 1. Another duel against a Hungarian follows in the semifinals. Grabher is 1-0 down in head-to-head against 31-year-old Reka Luca Jani. The lady from Siofok clearly won in two sets in the first round in Zagreb this year.
