Madison Keys was able to confirm the surprising two-set success over world number one Iga Swiatek in an impressive manner on Friday: The American also kept the upper hand in the quarter-final duel with the newly crowned Wimbledon winner Elena Rybakina and clearly won her semi-final ticket in two sets. Keys now meets Petra Kvitova in the semifinals.

The Czech is also in good shape at times in Ohio: the 28-year-old is in the semi-finals for the third time in Cincinnati. Kvitova hardly had any problems with the qualifier Alja Tomljanovic, in the end the 32-year-old won 6: 3 and 6: 3. The other two quarterfinals in Cincinnati are contested by Jessica Pegula and Caroline Garcia as well as Aryna Sabalenka and Shuai Zhang.
