Krejcikova let her opponent wait a full 13 minutes after losing the first set, the Czech had said goodbye to the court for an extensive toilet break. Garbine Muguruza asked the chair umpire politely, but did not let herself be disturbed. The two-time major winner got an early break and finally won 7: 6 (6) and 6: 3. After a playing time of 2:08 hours, a ball from Krejcikova sailed out of bounds.
For Muguruza it was the eighth title on the WTA tour, the first since Monterrey 2019. On the way to the final, the Spaniard had to clear two extremely tough opponents with Aryna Sabalenka and in the semifinals Elise Mertens. Krejcikova had it a little easier in the semifinals with Jill Teichmann.
