WTA Finals: Asheigh Barty defeats battered Belinda Bencic
World Ranking First Ashleigh Barty won her first match at the WTA Finals in Shenzhen.

The Australian defeated Belinda Bencic of Switzerland 5: 7, 6: 1 and 6: 2. After initial problems, Barty found more of her game during the match, ending up with 30 winners on 29 errors without any ado.
Bencic, however, seemed ailing, took a medical break after the second set. 17 hits with 30 unforced errors were at the end with her in the statistics. Above all, Barty did not give much on his serve, Bencic only had two break chances in the match.
With their victory, the French Open champion Barty also secured the number 1 at the end of the year.
Earlier, Naomi Osaka had already defeated Petra Kvitova in straight sets.
The purple group will be on Monday, with Karolina Pliskova playing against Elina Svitolina at 11.30, followed by Bianca Andreescu against Simona Halep.
