WTA: First title for Sorribes Tormo after beating Bouchard

Sara Sorribes Tormo won the WTA Tour 250 tournament in Guadalajara. The Spaniard defeated Eugenie Bouchard 6-2 and 7-5 in the final.

Before the tournament in Guadalajara, Sorribes Tormo had a record of 2:12 in the quarter-finals on the WTA tour, and she had lost her two previous matches in a semifinal round. Bouchard, on the other hand, was able to write to the title holder for the first and only time in her best year, 2014, in Nuremberg.

Sorribes Tormo improved 6: 2 and 7: 5 to a new career high in the WTA world rankings, the Spaniard is now on position 57.Bouchard, who was already a member of the top ten, jumped from 144th to 116th .
