Ons Jabeur (WTA 76) is a true pioneer on the WTA Tour. The 25-year-old Tunisian has already reached a record in 2019: By reaching the world ranking 51, the Tunisian Fed Cup player not only reached her preliminary career high in early September, but also broke a new record: the right-hander from northern Africa has it reached the highest rank ever recorded by an Arabian player. /

Jabeur, who was the first Arab woman to reach the third round of a Grand Slam at Roland Garros in 2017, has now been honored at the Arab Women of the Year award ceremony in London. As a model role model who, according to the award, has made "immeasurable" contributions to public life in various areas.

Two semi-finals participations

A final participation was the Tunisian in 2019, although not as successful as in the previous year at their only ever WTA final in Moscow. However, in 2019, Jabeur underlined her potential for top placements in her semi-final appearances at WTA International in Tianjin, China, and at the WTA Premier in Eastbourne, where she lost to Angelique Kerber.
