Second title of 2021 for Daria Kasatkina: after the Russian had already won the Philipp Island Trophy in Melbourne, she has now won the WTA Tour 500 tournament in St. Petersburg. Final opponent Margarita Gasparyan had to give up with a score of 6: 3 and 2: 1 for Kasatkina due to a back injury.

With this success, Kasatkina made up 23 places in the WTA world rankings - the former top ten player will be on position 38 from Monday. Daria Kasatkina won 15 of 19 matches in 2021.
