WTA Lexington: Serena Williams wins 31st sister duel against Venus
Serena Williams won the 31st edition of the "Sister Act" against Sister Venus in three sets and is in the quarter-finals of the WTA tournament in Lexington.

The 31st duel between the two Williams sisters goes to Serena : In the round of 16 of the tournament in Lexington / Kentucky, the 38-year-old defeated Venus, two years older, in a high-class game with 3: 6, 6: 3 and 6: 4 by. In the family's internal balance, it is now 19:12 for Serena.
In the first set Venus initially fell 2-0 down, but then won six of seven games. Serena got the upper hand in the second half and equaled to 1: 1 after sets. Then the opponents delivered an open exchange of blows before Serena managed the decisive break to 5: 4.
Their own service game then brought them through to the quarter-finals. The 23-time Grand Slam winner hit a total of 14 aces, and Venus had six. Most recently, the Williams sisters faced each other in the third round of the 2018 US Open.
Serena Williams will now face Shelby Rogers in the quarterfinals, who in turn won against Leylah Fernandez. In addition, Jil Teichman and Catherine Bellis prevail in their round of 16 matches on Thursday.
