Is it the start of a whole flood of tournaments that the WTA is pulling out of its sleeve for autumn? Or have we already reached the end of the flagpole with the announcement that the Upper Austrian Open will take place in Linz from November 7th to 15th?

First of all, it is gratifying that selected women will still be able to do their work in the coming weeks. The event in Linz has a long tradition, in 2019 Cori Gauff won her first WTA title in the final against Jelena Ostapenko.

In addition to Linz, there is now only one opportunity for the WTA professionals to show up: from October 18 to 25 in Ostrava. So there is almost a two-week break between the two tournaments, so the question naturally arises as to which of the non-European players will come to Ostrava and / or Linz.

One can assume that tournament director Sandra Reichel will pull out all the stops to present top tennis again to the fans in Linz.
But maybe the WTA has a few tournament locations up its sleeve for the end of the 2020 season, which it is now gradually revealing to the public.
