Aryna Sabalenka continues to impress. The Belarusian, who won the title at the Australian Open this season and before that in Adelaide, is the first player to reach the semi-finals of the WTA Tour 1000 after beating Mayar Sherif 2: 6, 6: 2 and 6: 1. Tournament of Madrid. There, Sabalenka meets either Irina-Camelia Begu from Romania or Maria Sakkari from Greece.
Most recently, Sabalenka reached the final at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart, but lost it to Iga Swiatek like last year. The Pole will not play her quarter-final against Petra Martic from Croatia until tomorrow.
