Angelique Kerber faced Victoria Azarenka in the second round in Miami

Angelique Kerber started the duel with her feared opponent Victoria Azarenka so well. The German made the early break, which the Bemerin also knew how to confirm. Azarenka, however, came back, managed the rebreak and, with a score of 5: 5, earned the break advantage, which the lady from Belarus was able to transport to win the set. That should mean defeat for Kerber. Set two also went 6-2 to Azarenka, who now meets world number one Ash Barty.

The co-favorite Elina Switolina is also in the round of 16. The Ukrainian had to work hard in her second round duel with the Russian Ekaterina Aleksandrova, especially in the first set, but ultimately won it 7-1 in the tie-break. Halep has to give where
