There were no real doubts about winning the title in the final. Jabeur dominated the game from the start, got the break early and served with a lot of tailwind. In total, the Tunisian gave her opponent three break chances, which Shnaider was unable to capitalize on.
It was the first final at a WTA event for the young Russian, who defeated Petra Kvitova in the quarterfinals on Thursday and moved into the final after winning the semifinals against Linda Fruhvirtova. In the final she had no chance against a confident Jabeur, who ended the match after 78 minutes.
For number seven in the WTA ranking, the success in Ningbo, China, is the fifth title on the WTA tour and the second triumph this year. The world ranking remains unchanged despite the victory in the 250cc event. The gap to sixth-placed Maria Sakkari is too big.
Jabeur now continues in the first round of the 100 event in Beijing against a qualifier. Shnaider meets Alexandra Sasnovich at the start
