A nightmare came to an end for Dayana Yastremska on Tuesday. After the Ukrainian tested positive for an anabolic substance on November 24, 2020, the 21-year-old was banned from participating in professional tournaments with immediate effect. She flashed twice with appeals to the international sports court (CAS). Now her pledged innocence has been confirmed by an independent tribunal. Yastremska can now again take part in international competitions.

The lady from Odessa was accordingly relieved in a comment on social media: "I am happy and relieved to be able to announce that I have been acquitted of all allegations."

The tribunal accepted that the positive test was caused by contamination of the sample. “I acted without any mistakes or negligence,” said Yastremska. She's been through a lot over the past six months and it's been difficult to deal with all the negative comments.
